DVA e-news Issue 7 – Transition & Wellbeing Research Program

4 Jun 2015

The Transition & Wellbeing Research Programme is the largest and most comprehensive programme of study undertaken in Australia to examine the impact of military service on serving and ex-serving ADF members and their families.

Funded by Departments of Veterans’ Affairs and Defence and conducted independently by some of Australia’s leading research investigators, the programme will help deliver services that will make a difference to service on serving and ex-serving ADF members and their families.
The programme consists of three studies:

The Impact of Combat Study – Will follow up close to 2000 individuals who participated in the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) Prospective Health Study, with the aim of examining the longitudinal trajectory and risk and protective factors for mental, physical and social health and wellbeing.
The Family Wellbeing Study – Will investigate the impact of military service on the wellbeing of nominated families of serving and ex-serving ADF members.
