Yesterday the Australian Special Air Services Association, the Commando Association and the Returned and Services League of Australia issued a joint statement calling on the Federal Government to direct the CDF to respect the presumption of innocence for soldiers accused of yet to be proven war crime allegations, and to suspend administrative action against soldiers and officers, until legal proceedings have been concluded.

ADSO Chairman Kel Ryan said, “The presumption of innocence for those accused of yet to be proven war crimes in Afghanistan must be unquestionably protected at all cost”.
