National Inquiry – Defence and Veteran Suicide

Prevention Bill 2020 and the Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2020

On 3 September 2020 the Senate referred to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Legislation Committee the provisions of the National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention Bill 2020 and the National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2020 for inquiry and report. The reporting date agreed by the committee is 30 November 2020.

The purpose of this letter is to draw your attention to the inquiry and to invite you or your organisation to make a written submission to the committee by 9 October 2020. More information about the bill and the inquiry is available on the committee’s website
