Defence to Civilian Success Training Program
The Office for Veterans has partnered with TAFE Queensland to deliver the Defence to Civilian Success Training Program.
This program is providing free TAFE and apprenticeships for up to 300 veterans transitioning to civilian employment, with funding of up to $3,000 per person.
Veterans receive a personalised training pathway designed to enhance employment opportunities.

Veterans Digital Capability and Skilling Program, Townsville
There are many career opportunities for people with digital skills, so there’s never been a better time to start a digital career.
Based in Townsville, the Veterans Digital Capability and Skilling Program offers free digital skills training to help transitioning and former ADF members and their immediate families.
The program includes short workshops to give participants an overview of the training for cybersecurity, ICT network administration and digital marketing.
Participants who complete the core program will receive two subjects towards a Certificate III in Information Technology.

Trade to Teach and Turn to Teaching Internship Programs
Both programs are open to all Queenslanders, and offer:
- financial support of up to $20,000 (not tax free) to assist with study expenses during the first year of a full-time undergraduate teaching degree (specialising in industrial technology and design)
- internship employment (full-time pay) from the second year of study and for the remainder of your degree, with a half teaching load in a Queensland state school
- permanent employment as a teacher in a secondary Queensland state school following graduation and provisional registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
