The following is a restatement of the Greens policy on Indexation of Military Superannuation Pension provided from the Green Leaders Office on 31 January 2013.
“The Australian Greens have taken a strong stance on equitable indexation of military superannuation pensions. As our spokesperson for Veterans Affairs, Senator Penny Wright, has said, “The current situation is unfair.” The Australian Greens are aware of this, and have formally requested that the federal government consider this policy change as part of this years budget.

We will continue to negotiate with the government to urge them to find a way in which we can achieve a financially responsible reform of the indexation of pensions. In our position as a minority party, we are unable to pass this legislation without the support of the government, and as such, we will continue to lobby for their support.”
